Fresh Apple Cake
Ingredients
2 cups Winesap Apples
1 cup sugar
½ cup butter
1 egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon Vanilla
½ cup chopped pecans
Instructions
Chop apples; add sugar and let set 1 hour or until sugar is dissolved. Mix flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and nuts. Beat egg; add oil and vanilla. When apples are ready, add to beaten egg and butter. Add other dry ingredients. Mix well. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
Note: We recommend doubling this for a 9x13 pan. The recipe said it makes a full 9x13, but it was a little skimpy. We ended up cutting it up like brownies—and it was good!
