Laman Wedding
Miss Sara Elizabeth Littlejohn, daughter of David Littlejohn of Brownsville and Roger & Monica Bivins of Milan and Timothy Lane Laman, son of Tim & Rosie Laman of Maurie City were united in marriage on August 25, 2018, at the Browning Chapel at Duffey Plantation in Brownsville. Brother Grover Westover of the Harmony Baptist Church in Stanton presided over the ceremony.
The Bridesmaids were Mia Fowler, Ellington Steele, Dalia Speaker, Billie Anne Foster and Maggie Herron; Maid of Honor was Kayla Lunsford. The flower girl was Ava Lynn Marbury, second cousin to the Bride. The Bridesmaids wore long navy chiffon gowns from David’s Bridal.
Groomsmen included Landon Laman, Josh Brasfield, Brandon Ladley, Wil Permenter, Will Barnhart and Best Man, Tim Laman. Ushers included Patrick Littlejohn and Curtis Laman. The Groomsmen wore tan suits with navy ties and white rose boutonnieres. Rentals were from My Best Friend Jenna in Jackson. The Groom also wore a tan suit with a navy tie and a white rose boutineer, to match his groomsmen. Ring bearers were Lucas Reasons, second cousin to the Groom, and Eason Bivins, nephew of the Bride. The Ringbearers carried the Groom’s Band of Titanium, and the Bride’s Band of white gold with diamonds.
The Bride wore an elegant sleeveless ivory floor-length Batiste Gown with Chantilly lace with a scalloped lace V-Neckline and satin covered buttons down the back of the gown. The lovely ivory veil was also trimmed in Chantilly lace. Sara Elizabeth’s Something Old was her Groom’s christening bonnet worn around the bridal bouquet, Something New was a Sarah Covey Necklace from the Bride’s Father, Something Borrowed: Pearl Earrings from Morris Jewelers, and Something Blue, Navy Ribbon streamers attached to the Bridal Bouquet.
The Bride’s hair stylists were Whitney Renfroe and Morgan Hopkins from Kimberly & Co. in Trenton who also perfected her makeup for the day.
During the ceremony, Cliff Walker was the vocalist. A beautiful arbor arrangement of Blush, White, and Pink Roses with Eucalyptus and Baby’s Breath to complement the overall theme of Rustic Elegance adorned the Chapel. Flowers for the ceremony were arranged by The Cotton Belle of Crockett County.
The reception was held at the Brownsville Country Club. Backyard Bar-be-cue in Brownsville catered the event with side dishes provided by Friends and Family. The menu included Bar-be-que Nacho Bar, Baked Potato Bar, Chicken Tenders, Pork Tenderloin Sliders, Green Beans, Baked Beans, Mini Ham & Biscuits, Chicken Salad on Croissants, Fruit Bar, Veggies with Dips, Assorted Cheese with crackers and a variety of dips.
The Wedding Cake was a three tier wedding cake with white buttercream icing, decorated with fresh pink, blush, and white roses made by the Warped Wisk from Newbern, Tennessee and displayed on a wooden box-style cake stand handcrafted by the Bride’s stepfather and customized by Lee Morris of Rustic Flair Custom. The Groom’s cake was themed in Duck Hunting and was a strawberry two tier cake with buttercream icing displayed on a two-inch tree slice. Flower arrangements for the reception were created by Carla Morris in Brownsville.
The couple honeymooned in the Bahamas. The Groom is employed by Tennessee Tractor and the Bride is a nursing student at the University of Memphis.
The couple was honored by an engagement party held at the garden of the Bride’s maternal Grandparents, Scottie and Betty Morris on July 1, 2017, in Brownsville. The party was themed in Rustic Elegance.
After dating for four years, Tim asked Sara Elizabeth to be his wife at a surprise party in the presence of their family.
