Broccoli Casserole with Almonds
Ingredients:
2 packages frozen broccoli - cooked until tender only
2 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons flour
2 cups milk
¾ cups or more grated cheese
1 teaspoon salt
⅓ teaspoon pepper
½ cup chopped almonds (1 package sliced almonds)
4 slices crisp bacon
½ cup buttered bread crumbs (Crushed Ritz Crackers)
Directions:
Cook broccoli until tender. Drain and place in a greased casserole dish. Make a sauce of butter, flour, milk, cheese, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle broccoli with almonds, then pour on the cheese sauce. Sprinkle top with crumbled bacon and crushed Ritz crackers coated in melted butter (about a tablespoon of butter and 1 sleeve of Ritz crackers.)
Place in a 350° oven for about 20 minutes or until bubbly hot and browned on top.
