Balloon Dart Painting with Kids

Materials

KidsCrafts0002.jpg
  •  Small Balloons

  •  Balloon Pump

  •  Washable Paint

  •  Plastic Darts or Airsoft Gun

  •  Thumbtacks

  •  Canvas

  •  Large drop cloth to cover the mess

Instructions

1. Place the mouth of the balloon over your paint container and squirt a small amount of paint. Then take your pump and fill your balloons and twist off to tie. Make sure you are doing this with a large cloth to cover the floor in case a balloon pops! I highly recommend doing this outdoors near a water hose just in case.

2. In an area outdoors where you can place your drop cloth on the ground, tape your canvas somewhere that is low enough for kids to throw darts at.

3. Attach the balloons with thumbtacks on your canvas. You want to attach the twisted off ends as to not pop the balloons.

Ice Cream in a Bag

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream or half and half

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 2 1/2 tsp sugar

  • Sandwich size resealable bags

  • Gallon size resealable bags

  • Coarse Kosher salt

Instructions

Place the first three ingredients into a tightly sealed sandwich sized bag, pressing the air out as you seal it. Then put this into another tightly sealed sandwich bag. Fill a gallon size resealable bag half-way full of ice cubes, and mix with 6 tablespoons of coarse kosher salt. Then put the sealed sandwich-size bag into the middle of the ice, and seal the larger bag. I also recommend doubling up the gallon size bags as well, especially if you have little helpers.

Making the Ice Cream

To make the ice cream, get moving! You need to shake the bag for about 5-10 minutes or until ice cream forms.
