Smith Wedding
Miss Madison Taylor Kerley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert [Rhonda] Kerley of Bartlett and Jeremiah Wade Smith, Son of Kirk Smith of Somerville and Theresa Hamilton of Conway, Arkansas were united in marriage on October 7, 2017, as a small shower gave way to bright sunshine.
The marriage took place at The Quonset, in Collierville, with Reverend Kirk Martin of Barton Chapel Baptist Church. A lovely Rustic Fall Romance was used as the theme.
Kayla Rush served as the Maid of Honor with Cooper Harden and Kaitlyn Walls serving as Bridesmaids. Emma Kerley was the Flower Girl. The Bridesmaids wore convertible style dresses from The Daint Yard.
The Best Man was Evan Cook, with Brandon Snipes and Cody McNeal serving as Groomsmen. The Groomsmen wore Grey vest suits with navy ties, with special socks given as gifts by the groom. Rentals were from American Tuxedo. The Ring Bearer was Trenton Cook and Ushers were Garrett Herring and Zachery Kerley.
The Bride wore an Allure trumpet gown with lace and beading, and tiny buttons down the entire back and train, with a lace silhouette back. Her Something Old was her Grandfather’s wedding ring tied to the bouquet, Something New was her lovely wedding gown, Something Borrowed was a firefighter’s bugles tied to the bouquet, given to her by her uncle, and her Something Blue consisted of her elegant navy and crystal heels for the wedding and navy sequin Kate Spade Keds for the reception.
The Groom was handsome in his dark grey suit and silver bow tie from American Tuxedo, along with special socks given to his as a gift from his Bride.
The flowers for the ceremony, white hydrangeas, ivy, and baby’s breath were entwined around a white mesh, lighted arch built by the Bride’s father for her special day. Her bouquet had Vendela roses throughout, and the bridesmaid’s flowers were high and magic roses, along with blue hydrangeas. The aisle and tables were decorated with the bride’s favorite flower, orange gerbera daisies, all provided and artfully arranged by Arlington Florist.
Erika Houston was the hairstylist and provided the makeup for the Bridal party. Photographer for the day was Greg Plunk of Munford. Invitations were by Wedding Paper Divas and rentals were provided by Affordable Party Rentals.
The reception was catered by Me and My Tea Room of Stanton, and the menu included beef tenderloin, Texas pecan chicken, mac and cheese, roasted brussel sprouts, and a mashed potato bar, with assorted fruit and appetizers for the cocktail hour. The wedding cake was a delectable creation of Ivory icing covering three tiers made of Italian buttercream, chocolate fudge and lemon all decorated with flowers and made by Me and My Tea Room. The Groom’s cake was also made by Me and My Tea Room with strawberry layers, chocolate icing and decorated with chocolate covered strawberries.
Music for the reception was provided by Dingo Entertainment. The first dance of the Bride and Groom was to the music of Ed Sheeran, ‘Perfect’. The Bride’s dance with her father was to ‘Lullaby’ by Billy Joel and ‘Father and Daughter’ by Paul Simon. The Mother Son dance was to ‘My Wish’ by Rascal Flatts.
To honor her father, the Bride had a Bourbon and Cigar bar added to the reception, which was decorated by her aunt.
After the reception, the couple left for their honeymoon at the Grand Bahia Principe Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
How they met: High school sweethearts at Fayette Academy, they dated for seven years until they went on a double date with her cousin, having dinner and then driving through Starry Nights. They then went back to her parent's house to exchange Christmas gifts. The last gift given by the groom was a card asking her to look on the Christmas tree for the gift. After searching the entire tree, an ornament was found with two rings on it, saying “will you marry me” and when she turned around, he was down on one knee and popped the question in front of her family. The bride’s mother started a tradition of getting a personalized ornament every year at Christmas. The Bride continued this tradition when they started dating, and this was the one picked out by the groom that year.
The Bride is employed as a registered nurse at Methodist North in Memphis, and the Groom is a pipe welder for Plant Maintenance in Millington.
