Miss Sarah Elizabeth Cousar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan [Sarah] Cousar of Covington, Tennessee and Graham Poston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Greg [Kim] Poston of Henderson, Tennessee were joined together in marriage on June 23, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church in Covington, by the Reverend Dr. Scott Sealy and Judge Alan Highers, the Grandfather of the Groom.

Bridesmaids were Haley Johnston, Annsley Poston, Katie Younts, and Degan Loren; Matrons of Honor were Natalie Bingham and Hannah Lindsey, and the Maid of Honor was Kinsey Johnston.  The bridesmaids selected their own style of gown in a carnation, rose, blush, dusty rose, and suede rose palette, all to coordinate with the Shabby Chic style of the wedding.. Dresses were by Dessy, purchased at Bella Bridesmaids in Memphis.  The greeters were Brinley and Anna Reese Cousar, cousins of the bride.

Groomsmen were Jordan Phelps, Brent Rowsey, Jake Greenway, Sam Kesler, Kelby Hudson, and Will Loren.  Best man was James Adkins. The groomsmen wore BLACK by Vera Wang tuxedos from Men’s Warehouse.

The Bride wore a lovely backless designer wedding dress by Essense of Australia.  The deep side cutouts were created by long side illusion lace and a deep V-neckline with organic edged lace floating straps.  The bodice was heavily embroidered with luxe lace. A laser-cut French lace train was the signature feature of the dress. The fabric covered buttons that ran down the entire length of the train were the finishing touch that gave the back of the dress such a stunning, dramatic look.  Something old was a beautiful handkerchief made by the bride’s great, great grandmother. It was also carried by the bride’s mother and grandmother on their wedding day. Sarah’s something new was her gorgeous dress, something borrowed was her veil, from her Best Friend, Natalie Bingham.  The veil is their own version of the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Veil”. The bride’s grandmother provided the something borrowed with a handkerchief embroidered with blue flowers. Sarah’s hair stylist was Tiffany Sullivan and Shelby Maughan of Little Shop of Hair. Her makeup was done by Brittany Wright, also of Little Shop of Hair.

Pianist for the ceremony was Sherrie Yarbro, the organist was Clifton Wingard, the violinist was Stephanie Turnbow.  Sanctuary decorations included lovely vases of floating candles along the altar railing, along with two large floral arrangements of white and pink roses, Fuji mums, Bells of Ireland, fern, and eucalyptus.  Family pews were marked with white tulle. The Church entrance was adorned with two large ferns, two standing lanterns with a beautiful arrangement of pink roses, babies breath, and eucalyptus, the guest table was completed with a guest book and a vase of roses.

The flowers for both the ceremony and the reception were artfully arranged by Dianna Deverell, owner of Kathryn’s Flowers in Covington.  Invitations were created by Will Loren. Photographer for the wedding was Christi Oswalt of Covington, TN; Videographer was Weston Downing of Covington, TN, and the wedding coordinator was also Andra Hurst of Houston, TX.

Driving from the Church to the reception hall, the couple left the Church in a 1960’s Silver Cloud II Rolls Royce owned and driven by Dennis Norris.

The couple and their families received their guests at a reception at Liberty Hall, owned by Bill and Nancy Peeler.  Catering was delightfully done by Me and My Tea Room of Stanton, with a menu consisting of several different types of sliders, fruit displays, hot spinach artichoke dip, chicken quesadillas & salsa, a mashed potato bar, chicken salad in a pastry cup, a variety of wonderful cheeses and “Savannah” punch.  The wedding cake was created with alternating flavors in the four tiers, Italian, Buttercream, and Strawberry, and was adorned with wedding flowers. The groom’s cake was a UT chocolate cake, the groom’s favorite team. Both were created by Me and My Team Room.

The DJ for the reception was Rockin’ Robin DJs of Lakeland, TN, who provided the music for the couple’s first dance to ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ by Haley Reinhart.  The Father-Daughter Dance was ‘What a Wonderful World’ by Louis Armstrong, and the Mother-Son dance was to ‘The Best Part of Me’ by Lee Brice.

To honor them, the couple dedicated their wedding to their parents, grandparents, and siblings by displaying wedding pictures of each couple at the reception along with a sign that read, “We dedicate our wedding to our parents, grandparents, and siblings who demonstrate daily the true meaning of marriage.”

The rehearsal dinner was held at Old Town Hall Cafe in a very romantic setting.  The menu consisted of Chicken Cordon Bleu and Honey Grilled Pork Tenderloin with roasted asparagus, cheesy scalloped potatoes, and a house salad, along with delectable cupcakes from Gigi’s Cupcakes.

The couple honeymooned in Riviera Maya, Mexico.  Graham will return to work with the SPED department and coach baseball at Brighton High School.  Sarah Elizabeth will return to Covington High School as an English Intervention teacher and softball coach.

How they met:  Graham actually went to Freed Hardeman University for one year before transferring to Harding University the year that Sarah Elizabeth began college at FHU.  They just missed each other. By both attending the same small college, Graham and Sarah Elizabeth knew a few of the same people and had heard of each other. However, they didn’t meet until after college.  On Sarah Elizabeth’s 24th birthday, Graham sent her a Facebook message wishing her a happy birthday and they struck up a conversation. A couple of weeks later, they had their first date and quickly knew that they were “the one”.  Graham proposed on the first night of a vacation in Orange Beach. He set up the sweetest display of candles, flowers, flower petals, balloons, champagne, and a sign that read, “Will you marry me?” People watched from their balconies and cheered when she said, “Yes!”
