The 12 Goodies of Christmas: Jack Daniels Whiskey Fudge
Christmas is a magical time of year. It’s the time we look forward to spending time with family, giving Christmas presents, sending cards, and it’s that one time of year where we open our hearts and warm our spirits with goodwill toward others. But let’s be honest — the best part of Christmas is the food: cookies, cakes, fudge, hard candy, soft candy, gingerbread, eggnog, and a million other goodies that are dangerously irresistible. It’s Christmas, so the calories don’t count until the new year anyway. Cypress has gathered 12 recipes of sweets and treats to share with you — and don’t worry, we tested them out too. Try out a recipe or two and let us know how your goodies turned out. Have a recipe of your own? Share it with us! We’d love to try it!
Ingredients:
5 cups sugar
2 sticks unsalted butter
1 cup whole milk
1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla
25 large marshmallows, ripped in half
11.5 oz Ghiradelli© 60% Cocoa Bittersweet Chocolate Chips
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3/4 cup Jack Daniels Whiskey, or a whiskey you really like. You will really be able to taste it!
Directions:
Whisk whiskey with powdered sugar and set aside. Foil and butter a 9 x 13 baking pan. Put sugar, butter, milk and vanilla in a large pot with a heavy bottom and stir steadily until mixture boils. Continue stirring while letting it boil for 3 minutes (time it, this is important). Remove from heat. Add the marshmallows and chocolate, stirring until all of it is melted and blended into the sugar mix. Give whiskey mixture a quick stir, and add it to the pot, stirring until fully incorporated. Pour into a greased pan, and chill. Let mellow for a day before cutting.
