Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

1 ⅔ cups sifted flour

1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

Dash of salt

½ cup margarine

½ cup firmly packed brown sugar

½ cup creamy or chunky style peanut butter

⅓ cup Karo corn syrup (light or dark)

1 egg, beaten

½ teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.  Cream margarine, gradually add sugar; cream until light and fluffy.  Beat in ½ cup of peanut butter and syrup until smooth and well blended.  Add beaten egg and vanilla, then add sifted dry ingredients, a little at a time, mixing well after each addition.  Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in colored sugar (for Christmas). Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with a fork.   Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
