Tournament of Roses Parade Watch Party
The Tournament of Roses is approaching fast! On January 1st, 2019, people all throughout West Tennessee will be tuning in to watch the Munford High School Marching Band perform music from West Tennessee area musicians in the Tournament of Roses Parade. These musicians include Elvis, Justin Timberlake, Aretha Franklin, Isaac Hayes, and more. This is is a once in a lifetime opportunity, as only 5 high school bands (20 bands total) from around the world have been chosen to perform. The parade begins at 10:00am our time. Then, at 6:00 pm the big game between the Washington Huskies and the Ohio State Buckeyes will begin. Whether you’re repping Purple and Gold, Grey and Scarlet, or Crimson and White for Munford’s band, this calls for a watch party!
A good watch party has deliciously themed food, good drinks, and great people! We will let you handle the people part, but here are a few ideas for you to snack on while you are waiting for the show to start.
What will be your show stopper?
Appetizers
For appetizers, you can prepare one our Cypress family game day favorites, Buffalo Chicken or Dorito Crockpot dips.
There’s a recipe for Football Shaped Rice Treats here too!
Bacon Wrapped
Drinks
Themed drinks are the best drinks!
For the Huskies’ purple and gold, we have Purple Tulips and a homemade Orange Julius recipe
And for the Ohio Scarlet, (It’s a bit tough to get a grey drink!), we have Pomegranate Cranberry Margaritas, and the Cranberry Americano!
For the kids, they will like concord and white grape juice for the Huskies, and cranberry juice or fruit punch for the Buckeyes!
